What’s Missing When Everything’s Already There
This Munich apartment had been thoughtfully updated over the years, piece by piece. A new cabinet here, a clever solution there. Small, smart decisions. But something was still missing: a shared language. A sense of cohesion. Each piece stood on its own, but the whole didn’t quite come together. Rather than starting with colors or new furniture, we took a different approach: we began with the people who live here. With their routines, needs, and the way they actually move through the space. What’s truly necessary? Where is structure missing and where is there simply too much? Only after answering those questions did the bigger picture become clear. This wasn’t just about adding something new. It was about realigning what was already there. One space quickly moved into focus: the kitchen.
Not just as a place to cook, but as the central hub of the apartment. A shared, flexible space for two people who often work from home. A room for ideas, for conversations, for coming together.
What emerged was more than an interior design solution. It was a new way of seeing the apartment: as one fluid, connected space. Every decision—whether functional or aesthetic—was guided by one principle: it should make everyday life feel simpler, warmer, more whole.

A floor plan opens up
To redefine the heart of the home, we removed the wall that once separated kitchen and living space. The result: a clear, open layout—generous in feeling, precise in structure.
The kitchen wasn’t simply redesigned, but thoughtfully integrated into the space. Not as a functional island, but as part of everyday life. With flexible work areas that blend in quietly. Whether seated, standing, at the bar or at the table. Always depending on what the day calls for.
And at the center of it all: PUR ,our solid oak dining table from the PEAM collection. Custom-made for this project, it’s where cooking, working, and coming together happen naturally.
Because when every element is designed in context, the home begins to tell a cohesive, quiet story. One that unfolds naturally, every day.
The kitchen – a living space where work and life come together.

A kitchen that feels like furniture
At PEAM, we don’t treat kitchen design as a standalone task.
Instead, we see it as part of a larger story. A seamless extension of the entire interior design concept. Every material, every line, every surface is part of a consistent narrative. From the kitchen to the living room, the spaces flow into each other with intention. The transitions are subtle, the language shared. Nothing feels added, everything belongs. That’s why, in our work, the kitchen becomes more than just a functional zone. It becomes a piece of furniture in its own right. Calm, sculptural, and integrated. A space that brings people together and anchors the home. The result? Living spaces that feel whole. Harmonious. Thoughtfully connected.
