Villa H, Wohnraum mit schwarzem Kamin im Zentrum

From private home to personal design language

Designing a house is one thing. But creating a home that truly feels like you – that’s something else. That’s exactly what happened with Villa H. Quietly, and quite naturally, it became the starting point for what would later grow into PEAM. Together with a Munich-based architect, Andrea Harbeck shaped the framework of the house. But everything that gives it character – the layout, the materials, the furniture – that’s hers. Every detail is rooted in how she lives and sees space. The living area tells the story best: a fireplace that floats like a sculpture, a staircase that connects levels instead of separating them, and a palette of pale wood, soft greys, and black steel that holds it all together. Nothing shouts. Everything flows. Andrea calls her approach “dimmed down” – quiet, grounded, deliberate. It’s not about looks. It’s about feeling. Materials that speak for themselves, spaces that don’t perform – they simply feel like home. Read the full article: SCHÖNER WOHNEN

Tailored, not just custom

Most of the furniture in Villa H. was made to measure. Not to be special – but because nothing off the shelf really worked. The dining area, for example, was planned so that everyone would find their spot: space to look out, to sit back, to be together. The SIT bench and PUR table, both from Andrea Harbeck’s own collection, are made from smoked oak and align seamlessly with the architecture. Even the slatted wooden panels aren’t just visual – they shape how the space feels: open and protected at the same time. It’s these kinds of details that make a room feel like it belongs to someone. At PEAM, sustainability doesn’t start with a label – it starts with making things that truly fit.

Reduction has depth

There’s nothing excessive in Villa H. – and that’s exactly why it works. Reduction here isn’t about doing without. It’s about intention. About focusing on what matters: materials that grow more beautiful over time, lines that bring clarity, spaces that let you breathe. Storage is built in and barely noticeable. Vintage pieces sit next to custom designs from the PEAM collection, each with a reason to be there. Nothing is just for show. Everything has purpose – and quiet presence. At PEAM, minimalism isn’t about stripping things away. It’s about giving what remains more weight, more meaning, more warmth.

Architecture that adapts

Villa H. doesn’t fight its surroundings – it flows with them. Built into a hillside, the home unfolds in layers. Living, dining, working, and resting areas shift gently across levels, all joined by one open staircase. Built-ins become part of the walls. A reading corner tucks itself under the slope of the roof. Even the pergola outside follows the rhythm of the house, not the rules of symmetry. What lasts isn’t flashy design. It’s function that fits. For Andrea, that’s real luxury: design that holds up in everyday life and quietly continues to make sense, year after year.

What stays with you

The best kind of home doesn’t try to impress. It stays with you – in small moments. The light on the floor in the morning. The feel of worn wood under your feet. Knowing where you want to sit without thinking. In Villa H., many of the materials have been lived with for years – and it shows, in the best way. Oiled timber, raw concrete, a quiet blend of vintage and new. It’s not about achieving perfection. It’s about creating spaces that grow with the people in them. That’s what PEAM is about. Not trends, not styling – but thoughtful design that lasts.
